The Croisette is a place of worship not only for what concerns the Cannes Festival, but also because of one of the most important charity galas of the jet-set: that of amfAR, dinner in which funds are raised for research against the AIDS. For its 26th edition, the gala chooses the evocative setting of the Hôtel du Cap in Antibes, in the heart of the French Riviera, and becomes the pretext to present one of the most anticipated capsule collections of the year, that of Giambattista Valli X H&M.
The Roman couturier, Parisian by adoption, has become famous in the fashion system thanks to his clothes with a princely silhouette, pink clouds between cotton candy and taffeta, which make rediscover the pleasure of high fashion.
No mannequins for Giambattista Valli X H&M, only it-girls and international influencers: our Chiara Ferragni wears a beautiful pale pink lace dress with a neckline that culminates in a heart of red hard stones, and with a short skirt on the front which leads to a long train.
At her side, Bianca Brandolini d’Adda, the beautiful aristo-socialite who wears a co-ord suit of a very light baby pink, with a pencil skirt and crop-top with puff sleeves decorated with bands of silver crystals.
Dressed in pink are also the Chinese producer and artist Chris Lee, in a beautiful taffeta puff dress of a sweet peach shade, and Kendall Jenner, wearing a structured dress with a layered fuchsia fabric and sleeveless round neckline, with a delicate bow to decorate the thin belt.
In total-white is instead the singer Gabi Wilson, aka H.E.R., with a dress with a sweetheart neckline and a wide skirt decorated with small white flowers of fabric.
The only man is Ross Lynch, the beautiful Harvey Kinkle of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina by Netflix, with a smoky grey suit with black dots. All the dresses are part of the Giambattista Valli x H&M capsule collection.
The Giambattista Valli X H&M collection, which will be officially distributed starting from November 7th, 2019, will be sold in preview and with a limited number of items starting from May 25th. A real dream that brings the beauty and splendour of haute couture into the reality of fast fashion, making accessible garments that usually exist only in our imagination. It doesn’t matter if they are pompous, with a Rococo flavour reminiscent of Marie Antoinette and her excesses à la mode, and that they reduce the occasions of use to important events: having a dress like that in the wardrobe gives the feeling of having a unique and special garment, and this is enough to make us feel happy. What can we say, we can’t wait to get our hands on it!
