It’s true: the sun doesn’t shine that much and the dreamy beaches are an actual dream right now, but not all is lost! There are some beautiful destinations that are perfect to spend a September weekend, that don’t fear the end of summer and give us moments of wonderful weather and Caribbean waters even during this late summer or pre-fall.
Another super popular destination of this past Summer 2019 was the Baleares but we’ll tell you a secret: Formentera, above all, actually gives its most wonderful spectacles and magic moments during September, when the wave of August tourists is gone and the weather and beaches are amazing. If you’re not part of this wave that went there last Summer, Formentera will give you the best weekend! Do you want to spend with us two days in one of the gems of the Mediterranean? Here’s what to visit:
Arriving in Formentera is super easy, you need to land in Ibiza and with a half an hour ferry trip you’ll be at the Formentera’s port. Before talking about the beauties natural and not only to visit, let’s talk about where to stay. According to us, if you want to live the nightlife in the Baleares style, find accommodation in Es Pujols: the most lively place of the island where there are all the clubs that we know you’ll want to experience. To go around the island, opt for renting a scooter to visit all the beaches!
Talking about the beaches! The natural beauties of Formentera are the real gem of the island and the ones that are undoubtedly part of our top chart are Playa de Ses Illetes and S’espalmador. The sand is white and the sea is crystal-clear, S’espalmador is a deserted islet that you’ll be able to visit on the inside. Another magic but the very wild place is Playa de Llevant, where to spend hours in absolute peace and relax in a natural oasis. If you’re lovers of the coves visit Playa de Migjorn: wild and mundane at the same time. Last but not least is Calò d’es Morts, that is considered the real pearl of Formentera, where to visit historic places inhabited by fishermen.
Formentera is also synonym with nightlife: in the years the island made the happy hours its most funny, playful and joyful events. Watching the sunset in the sea in front of a breath-taking view is priceless and doing it in super cool places is even better. We suggest the Chezz Gherdi in Es Pujols and the Piratabus in the wildest part of Formentera. Talking about the night, if you opt for romanticism have a walk through the iconic windmills like Molì de ses Roques and Molì Vell. If, on the contrary, you want to experience the Formentera nightlife, have a dinner in one of the most famous (and tasty) restaurants in Es Pujols like Rigatoni, Casanita, Bocasalina or Cafe Miranda. Do you want to party? Choose the Tipic, Pineta or Blue Bar!
