If there has been a highly anticipated event at London Fashion Week, this is undoubtedly the Tommy Hilfiger fashion show. The young, fresh and always up-to-date brand has made streetwear a real statement, which every year collects the consents of the whole fashion jet set. This year The Blonde Salad has decided, together with Valentina Ferragni, to live the Tommy experience up close, flying to London to spend a weekend dedicated to the most current casual wear dictates.
A celebration of sustainability, inclusiveness and diversity led TOMMYNOW, Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring 2020 fashion show which took place on February 16th at the Tate Modern in London. The fil rouge of the collection was the theme of loyalty: towards who we are, what we believe in and the objectives we want to achieve. In collaboration with Tommy for the great Lewis Hamilton, which for the fourth time has joined forces with the great clothing brand for an exclusive capsule. TOMMYNOW is, in fact, a combination of the brand’s strong heritage with Hamilton’s streetwear style, a union that brings high values that fashion should increasingly commit itself to celebrate, such as sustainability and research, great keywords of this collection. TommyXLewis is a fresh and sophisticated celebration of iconic pieces, which dig into the brand’s archive to add an irresistibly contemporary and American touch to it. The silhouettes are reinvented, with genderless touches, which do not put the shapes first but the study of the garments, made of refined textures and all-over graphics. Some of the most important names in the fashion world wear the most iconic items in the collection: Naomi Campbell and Winnie Harlow to name a few. Neon and denim are also great protagonists, who take turns on the catwalk on garments where wearability is the watchword.
At the end of the evening, as usual, the great after-party organized by Tommy Hilfiger, which brought together some of the biggest names in contemporary and digital fashion, to redefine together a concept of a unique and winning everyday outfit.
