The fashion house founded by Thom Browne has established itself among the most famous and appreciated names in the fashion world. The designer, who was born in 1965 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, interrupted his studies as an economist to pursue a very different career. After working for Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren and designing a collection for Brooks Brothers, he founded his own fashion house.
The new Thom Browne Resort 2023 women’s collection sees the light during the men’s show for Spring/Summer 2023. Some well-known faces from Marisa Berenson, Sasha Pivavorova, Cate Underwood, to artist Anh Duong and Farida Khelfa, who simulate being late to the show, take their seats. A real performance.
The star of the collection is Thom Browne‘s iconic tweed, blazers and midi skirts. Browne’s aesthetic is very strong, perhaps austere but fancy. One of the coolest details is certainly the return of the French shoes combined with tartan-print Parisian socks, the latter being in fact one of the main leitmotifs of the collection.
The woman in a tie, almost a tribute to the most revolutionary French designer of all time: Coco Chanel. The tie as the symbol par excellence of a new and modern vision of woman, finally free and independent from classic niceties. In this way, Thom Browne continues to spread a progressive idea of women’s fashion, capable of constantly looking ahead, always pushing the boundaries of fashion.
