We all know that fantastic posh imagery with a decidedly bold statement by Tom Ford. The American designer, born in 1961, has for decades been one of the most popular names in the entire fashion system. His particular vision relaunched the Italian fashion house Gucci between 1994 and 2004. During his ten-year tenure, the creative director created an unprecedented imagery, and it was thanks to the success achieved during that period that the American designer was able to begin his adventure with the fashion house that bears his name.
Let’s shine, this is certainly one of the key messages of Tom Ford’s new Spring/Summer 2023 collection. This fashion show literally seems to want to retrace some of the best moments of the designer’s career. The transparencies and satin bras seem to evoke his Gucci period, the chiffon dresses, then the cowboy shirts, and sequins, so many and everywhere. We loved them on the long evening dresses emblematic of Tom Ford’s heritage, but also as patches on cargo shorts.
Tom Ford‘s identity is as always very clear and evident, no subliminal message, his fashion is like an ode to glam. For the designer, it is, as always, the simplicity of classic forms that gives us emotions and confidence. It is precisely with these characteristics that we can go anywhere and at any time. gives us strong shoulders, a narrow waist and elongated legs is always ideal. Classic simplicity always works. Not just minimalism though, none of us can ever forget one of his most beloved style rules:
“When mixing patterns, don’t overthink it, put them together”.
