Today marks the end of Milan Fashion Week, an intense fashion week in which we finally got to see fashion return to presence – in its entirety. In fact, after years of virtual fashion shows, lookbooks and much more, the fashion system is back to make its mark live. These days we have been able to see the most famous models from all over the world return to the catwalk. Models symbolic of past decades such as Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Carla Bruni and Mariacarla Boscono are returning to the catwalks, joined by famous names from the fashion world of our years such as Bella and Gigi Hadid, Paloma Elsesser, Adut Akech, Lotta Volkova and the Italian Vittoria Ceretti.
Carla Bruni surprisingly opened the Spring Summer 2023 Tod’s show, while closing it was her colleague – a symbol like her of the 1990s – Naomi Campbell. This fashion week also confirmed the effective return to the catwalk of Gigi Hadid, in recent years less present than her sister Bella. Fashion weeks around the world are indeed an opportunity to get to know the next fashion trends, but also to admire supermodels on the catwalk. The coming season is marked by great comebacks, and among the many models we saw Kate Moss walk the catwalk at Bottega Veneta.
However, it is not only models who are walking the catwalk, in the last period we have been hearing more and more about catwalks that are much more open and inclusive than usual. Although it is clear that there is still a long way to go when it comes to inclusion and diversity, there have been positive examples such as Marco Rambaldi, Moschino, Versace, Act No. 1.
