Born Catherine Elizabeth Middleton on 9 January 1982 in Reading (UK), known to everyone as Kate, she has been a member of the British royal family for more than a decade.
Wife of the second in line to the British throne, Kate Middleton is now – after the death of Queen Elizabeth II – Princess of Wales, as well as future Queen Consort of one of the most populous and long-lived thrones in history.
The former Duchess of Cambridge has in fact been married – obv in Westminister Abbey – to Prince William since 29 April 2011. The two have three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Kate Middleton is known for her impeccably elegant and fashionable style, and often wears clothes by some internationally renowned designers. How can we forget some of her most famous looks by fashion houses such as Alexander McQueen, Jenny Packham and Temperley London. Kate loves to wear classic, timeless clothes. Speaking of clothes, Middleton is known for her love of upcycling.
What does upcycling mean?
This is a well-known sustainable clothing strategy that literally consists of reusing clothes. It is no coincidence that the Princess of Wales often advocates this in order to reduce the impact of fashion on the environment. Kate also has a weakness for vintage clothes and often wears second-hand or family pieces.
Kate Middleton’s love of hats
Kate – like Lady Diana once was – is mainly imitated for her style, which is often the subject of media attention. She is considered an icon, certainly because of her powerful yet approachable regal allure. The Princess loves accessories such as shoes, handbags and, last but not least, hats. Kate Middleton has a weakness for hats, especially those created by Philip Treacy, the famous Irish hatter. The future Queen Consort of England has worn many of his hats on official occasions.
Hats, it is known, are an important element of the British royal family‘s attire, both on official occasions and at social events. Each member of the family has a collection of hats, usually made of high-quality materials such as silk and velvet and decorated with ribbons, feathers and other design elements.
