Gucci is one of the world’s most famous luxury fashion houses, founded in Florence in 1921. Among its most iconic bags is the Horsebit 1955, featuring a ring with a central bar that is a variation of the classic horsebit first used by Gucci in 1953 on its loafers.
Since its reintroduction in 2020, the Gucci Horsebit 1955 bag has become a symbol of the fashion system. Available in different variants including calfskin, python and GG Supreme fabric, the bag comes in a wide range of sizes and colours including brown, black, pink and red.
The new Gucci Horsebit 1955 campaign…
The new advertising campaign for the Gucci Horsebit 1955 was shot by Mert&Marcus featuring celebrities such as Halle Bailey, Hanni and Julia Garner. Halle Bailey stars in Disney’s much-anticipated live-action ‘The Little Mermaid’, Hanni is a Global Brand Ambassador for NewJeans, the world-famous South Korean chart-topping group, and Julia Garner is an award-winning and critically acclaimed actress and one of the faces of Gucci Guilty.
The campaign focuses on the timeless spirit of the Gucci Horsebit 1955 bag, an archival item that has become a Gucci symbol over time, combining tradition, craftsmanship and innovation. The campaign illustrates how the iconic features of this bag have been redesigned and reinterpreted over time.

Since time immemorial, Gucci has drawn inspiration from the equestrian world, an art beloved of its early customers, a connection that has become increasingly meaningful over time. And among Gucci’s handbags, the Horsebit 1955 is one of the most popular, a symbol of the excellence of the materials and craftsmanship that have always distinguished this brand.
