Blackpink (in the correct form BLΛƆKPIИK), you know, is the well-known South Korean girl band formed by Kim Ji-soo, Jennie Kim, Rosé, and Lisa. Their chosen name represents an oxymoron, namely the strength and sweetness typical of contemporary girls. They are a group formed after a series of auditions organized by YG Entertainment, which was looking for young talent to form into a new girl group. In recent years, with their incredible successes, the girls have literally conquered the music world around the world. They are the queens of Spotify and, obv of YouTube, with the most subscribers among all the artists on these platforms. The Blackpinks have also climbed the U.S. charts, reaching the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 with their hit “Ice Cream” feat. Selena Gomez in 2020, and in 2022 the top spot on the Billboard 200 with their album “Born Pink.”

In addition, many of their music videos have accumulated over one billion (and even two) views on Youtube, not surprisingly they have now been enshrined as an international phenomenon. Not only music though, their influence also extends to the fashion system. They have become style icons and have collaborated with many fashion houses including Dior, Chanel and Saint Laurent.
