During the second day of the Paris Couture, we had the opportunity to attend Chanel’s new Couture show along the Seine for Autumn/Winter 2023, signed by creative director Virginie Viard – the heir to the visionary and eternal Karl Lagerfeld.
The models walked the catwalk in looks that expressed an everyday, not quite haute couture, but characterised by Mary Janes, daytime blouses and emblematic pieces of the historic French fashion house. Virginie Viard places great importance on narrating Chanel, immersing us in a Frenchness that is limitless, original and authentic. This collection clearly represents a refinement and style that goes beyond the typically French imagination.
Thus is presented an aesthetic made of beauty, but not glossy, natural, classy and spontaneous.
Opening the show was Caroline de Maigret, author of the best-seller ‘How to be Parisian Wherever You Are’, who wore a long coat in the iconic double-breasted navy tweed.
Afterwards, suits, skirts and chiffon details were presented. En effet, chiffon in abundance, here are Chanel.
