The transparence trend for Winter 2017

Girls, one question: when you have the choice between acting reasonably and acting crazy sexy cool, what is it going to be? Come on, let’s be honest: we all know that good girls go to heaven, and bad girls go everywhere. And since everywhere sounds (and is!) much more interesting, we pretty often stick to what we wanna do — no matter if it’s reasonable or not.

The best example? Fall Winter season 2016-2017 turns out to be quite an unreasonable one: never minding the low temperatures, it offers an abundance of gauzy dresses (you will love Alberta Ferretti’s collection), see-through blouses (oh, Chloé!), transparent skirts (we all want the transparent one with dots from Giamba), feathery sweaters (have you seen the turtleneck-ones from Nina Ricci?)…

In a nutshell, this means that transparence (forthrightly: clothes that show more than they cover) is one of the major trends this winter. Why we are falling for it? Because deep inside (even if we are playing it girl boss all the time), we all have a girly, airy and frisky self. And sometimes, we just need to celebrate it with all it’s femininity. So what would suit this purpose better than a delicate whiff of silk and tulle?

For all those of you who are not ready to enter fairyland yet, go for a nice style clash: pair transparent blouses with warm, thick fur (as seen at Blumarine’s), cover the delicate dresses with long coats (as did Alberta Ferretti), add some casual accessories (Gucci went for baseball caps) or slip into heavy biker boots (inspired by Philosophy’s catwalk looks). This does not only look stunning, it also shields us unreasonable girls from the cold winter.
