Long bob, short bob, chin bob or shaggy bob: a thousand shades, one haircut. The bob continues to be the coolest and most desired haircut. Its cheeky but unmistakably chic mood has bewitched not only hairstylists and fashion addicts, but also the catwalks all over the world, sported by the most sought after models of the fashion system. Karlie Kloss, Bella Hadid and Kaia Gerber to name a few, have paraded during these last fashion weeks showing off their bobs if necessary dishevelled, smooth or wavy. But how many types of bob haircuts exist and how to choose the one that suits us best? In general, as much as desired and loved, the bob is a cut that must be adapted to the shape of the face: in fact, it is essential to contact a trusted hairstylist who adjusts the length, the layers and/or fringe to the physical characteristics. For example, for those with an oval or rounded face, it is advisable to wear the bob with a side and layered on the front in order to give a more square shape to the face; on the contrary, those who already have a very bony and square face should try to keep the bob short, at the height of the ears, and with a mainly wavy styling.
But how many types of bob haircuts exist?
CHIN BOB
It is the bob in its most classic and pure version: middle part and hair at the height of the chin. It has no layers but is clean, defined, clean.
LOB – LONG BOB
It is the most popular alternative to the bob; it is long up to under the shoulders but recalls the chin bob for styling and cutting. Even the long bob in fact does not usually have many layers, even if in this case playing with the layers, it’s the perfect alternative for the less daring not yet used to seeing a clean cut on their face!
INVERTED BOB
It is the perfect bob for those who don’t want to see their hair too short. It consists of a variation of symmetries of the classic bob and is long in front and short behind.
SHAGGY BOB
It is the bob you saw on Taylor Swift or Selena Gomez, its mood goes back to the 70s and its layers are the protagonist. It is in fact super layered, disheveled and with a sexy and retro charm, perfect if embellished with bangs.
WOB
It is the bob that celebrities prefer to have, wavy and with curls to envy! Replicating it is easier than you think: you can do it either with your styler by giving a small twist under the roots and on the lengths, or without resorting to too much heat by making small torchons on damp hair
