In Paris, during the latest couture fashion week, it seems almost impossible not to notice how the fringe is one of the hottest hairstyle trends. This trend with a Seventies flavour has a special ability, that of being able to enhance different facial shapes thanks to its various versions. The fringe, as we know, is one of the easiest ways to freshen up and spice up your look, and is able to enhance and emphasise certain facial features. Among the different versions we know the French curtain fringes (open or curtain fringe), the very short version called baby fringes, the maxi fringe perfect for elongated faces, the straight fringe and the irregular fringe, the arched fringe and the trapezoid fringe that contour the face touching the cheekbones.
From Viktor & Rolf to Elie Saab, Chanel and Fendi, the fringe is also the star of the latest haute couture shows. Don’t forget though, fringes are not just for straight hair, they can also be adapted to curly hair.
At least once in a lifetime there are those who choose to opt for a fringe, in fact its highlighting of certain features of our face makes it a very popular choice not only among fashion houses and celebrities, but for everyone. However, there is that moment when the hair grows, a phase that is perhaps less manageable when we switch to side fringes that almost seem to become a quiff. By the way, for the less courageous, there are many versions of bangs extensions available on the market.
Among the latest Haute Couture shows in Paris, at Alexandre Vauthier we noticed one of the trendiest looks, the pixie cut with fringe. This hairstyle, as well as being very comfortable, can be easily adapted to different hair textures and types. And you, which do you think is the right fringe to sport for a radical change of look?
