Considered since years, the Eden of the Indian Ocean, Bali is a place full of magic and spirituality, that from decades enchants and makes all its visitors fall in love.
From the arrival at the Denpasar airport, the atmosphere starts to be magic propelling the tourist, above all when western, in a faraway world that smells like Jasmine. Just a few moments after the arrival, each tourist will be welcomed by a loud “gong” and a group of beautiful Balinese girls adorned by golden traditional dresses and flower crowns, who after a welcome dance will put a flower necklace on each new Bali lover. You can really smell the Balinese culture all around: it gets into you only by walking through its typical streets and meeting the wonderful people that live in this island with a double personality: the one of the metropolis and the one of the natural paradise.
The culture is steeped in the amazing Bali’s temples, considered one of the principal attractions of the island. To visit are the: Tanah Lot, Ulun Danu Bratan and Pura Goa Lawah, that face wonderful views. Talking about it, a must-stop is the one at the rice fields, that extend for miles and miles giving life to a unique and breath-taking landscape. The most beautiful rice fields are around Jatiluwih, Tirta Gangga and Selat. Waterfalls too is something unique that makes this place breath-taking, visit the Sekumpul, Gitgit and NungNung ones to feel immersed in a Disney fairytale. The beaches are rinsed on the one side by the Indonesian ocean, on the other by the Java sea, receding to leave in the afternoon the spectacle of a huge reef to its visitors. All the island is made of amazing white sand expanses, like the one of Nyang-Nyang, where is possible to relax and enjoy the ocean view. If, on the other hand, you’re lovers of surfing and snorkelling, two activities that are pretty much practised here, visit the beaches of Padang, Amed, Uluwatu and Legian.
Food in Bali will give you so many emotions, don’t be shy and don’t go in such touristic places where to eat food from “all over the world”. Taste the delicacies of the island in locations like Jimbaran, where the beach is transformed every single night in a food paradise made of fresh lobsters and prawns. Ubud too, full of super cute vegan and vegetarian restaurants, is a perfect alternative to satisfy all tastes.
