Royal dresses and princely details stand out as one of the most stylish trends of the coming Fall Winter 2019.
The excess and the pomp of the Baroque, with brocades and precious colours from ruby red to liquid gold, are combined with the romantic femininity of Marie Antoinette’s Rococo, with sensual necklines, puff sleeves, and delicate colors, both floral and sweet.
It is the triumph of a femininity that rediscovers the taste for excess, for the extra, for decoration, and that dares in the design, structure and material of its garments.
Simone Rocha seems to take inspiration from the painted porcelain of Capodimonte, creating clothes for modern demoiselle with a bustier with a heart-shaped brocade neckline worn over a dress that mixes pink silk with black brocade with heraldic decorations.
The Baroque also inspires the boat necklines of Vivienne Westwood and Marc Jacobs, with sensual weaves of fabric that frame the chest leaving the shoulders naked.
Etro follows them with long and mini dress with a soft design and royale fabrics like black velvet, tight at the waist with jewelled belts.
Chanel is inspired by the lace swirls and ermine-bordered dresses worn at the European courts, creating dresses with a boat neckline covered with white fur.
We then move on to the Rococo and to the typical necklines à la française, squared on the chest and with the shoulders covered that it continues in tight corset and in voluminous sleeves.
Giambattista Valli chooses light fabrics and a black and white micro print for his mini dress, while GCDS opts for purple satin and short ruffle sleeves.
In short, we return to articulated clothing, rich in accessories, where every dress and every detail is like a gem of a unique style.
With volume games, designs that reflect historical costumes, and a colour palette that seems to come from a treasure chest of jewellery, the trend of the Baroque and Rococo is one of the most beautiful and feminine of the next season.
Moreover, it has already made so many celebs and It-Girls fall in love with it, from our Chiara Ferragni to the Victoria’s Secret’s supermodels of who have already started to show it off during the summer!
