“We are happy and honored to welcome Adrian Appiolaza to the Aeffe family,” said Massimo Ferretti, Executive Chairman of Aeffe S.p.A.. “With his arrival at Moschino, Adrian brings with him a unique wealth of creativity and knowledge of fashion history that will allow us to write a new wonderful chapter in the brand’s adventure founded by Franco Moschino. I was immediately struck by Adrian’s explosive creativity, a personality full of energy and enthusiasm, elements that have always distinguished the history and path of Moschino. To Adrian, my greatest wish is to build with us a great success story.”
Indeed, the fashion system prepares to welcome a new creative chapter of the historic Italian fashion house. The appointment of Adrian Appiolaza, following the premature passing of Davide Renne, marks a new beginning, and the Argentine designer will bring his distinctive touch to the Maison’s women’s, men’s, and accessories collections. With a decade-long career, Appiolaza has held prestigious positions at Loewe and Chloé, earning an excellent reputation. His official debut will take place with the presentation of the Fall/Winter 2024 women’s collection during the upcoming Milan Fashion Week, a highly anticipated event to be held at the evocative Museo della Permanente.
“The jackets with 3D postcards; the dress with a skirt made of 20 bras; the countless trompe-l’oeil: as a creative, and as a collector, the list of Franco Moschino’s creations that have gone down in costume history is almost endless. The essence of his talent, for me, was to inhabit his time, sublimating its virtues and ironizing its flaws. An operation he carried out with enviable lightness, opening a window for all of us from which to imagine, in our own way, the future. I am deeply grateful to Massimo Ferretti for allowing me access to the world of Moschino, as well as entry into a house whose walls exude a history that I cannot wait to listen to. I am ready to transport the Maison into a new chapter, with a theatrical touch, in pure Moschino style,” concludes Appiolaza.
