All present at Chanel’s show in Japan, Tokyo

Presented at the Tokyo Big Sight, the Chanel Métiers d’art collection is the perfect combination of colors and motifs inspired by the 1970s vibes, clearly paying homage to the emblematic codes of the well-known French fashion house. These include camellias, pearls, jeweled buttons and beaded embroidery reinvented by the creative flair of Virginie Viard, obv the new creative director of Chanel. It all comes to life in a creative dialogue with the artisans of the Maisons d’art.

When first unveiled last December, this collection celebrated the worlds of film, dance, literature, contemporary art and music. Now also in Tokyo, Chanel continues this long artistic dialogue, creating new links with the Japanese art scene.

GUESTS ATTENDING THE CHANEL SHOW IN TOKYO

All guests were welcomed to Tokyo Big Sight with a new interpretation of “Slow Show” by choreographer Dimitri Chamblas, performed by dancers from Tokyo’s Tama University of Fine Arts, Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, Japan Women’s College of Physical Education and other universities. The evening continued with performances by the Japanese group Chai, Nix and Ichika Nito. Then, Jennie, the singer and ambassador of Chanel was a surprise guest at the show and performed on stage singing a new version of “You & Me” and a medley of “Fly me to the Moon” and “Killing me Softly.” The evening concluded with a DJ set by Japanese artist Peli and a concert by French electronic music duo Polo & Pan. Guests in attendance included Nana Komatsu, Park Seo Jun, Ai Hashimoto, Wang Yibo, Kristen Stewart, Hio Miyazawa, Kiko Arai, and Nozomi Iijima, as well as stars such as Chen Bolin, Fumi Nikaido, and Kyoko Hasegawa.
