Camille Miceli, the new artistic leader of the fashion house founded by Emilio Pucci in the late 1940s, is an Italian-French designer. Indeed, in her latest collection for Fall/Winter 2022, a very pleasant Italian-ness has emerged, in fact the collection entitled La Piazzetta is inspired by Capri, but in general by the Italian conception of the piazza. Important values including tradition, family and love emerge in a special way.
The piazzetta of typical Italian villages, that special place where friends, tourists and families meet living a unique experience made of emotions and deep truth. This collection signed Pucci becomes the tale of a new female figure, bohemian but at the same time urban, modern and bold. The woman designed by Camille Miceli is a perfect combination of the ideal of grandmother, mother and daughter, three generations in comparison.
This collection is also the symbol of the past of this maison, colorful and joyful, able to resume and keep alive all the key elements of the brand. The color precisely takes center stage, among the most iconic garments are undoubtedly the rainbow-colored cape, the poncho with bangs and handcrafted patchwork. Precisely the bangs become a distinctive feature, beloved by the designer, they are able to give a particular glam and cool allure to the garments, emblematic of Miceli’s foray into the Pucci imagination.
Not only color though, even non-colors such as black are able to tell the story of this collection by becoming a pleasant leitmotif. To the classic Pucci patterns, the French-Italian designer returns to the animal prints already used – especially the zebra print – in the past by Emilio Pucci.
The looks in the La Piazzetta collection appear both chic and comfy, some harking back to a very strong Italian-ness of the past. Camille Miceli also chose to pay homage to the Italian icon par excellence, Raffaella Carrà, by creating disco-style ruffle pants. A very interesting detail is the silk label with a handmade sketch of the Faraglioni of Capri – it was here that Emilio Pucci opened his first boutique in 1951 – and of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence,
As accessories, on the other hand, the bags stand out above all, some named after certain places that seem to want us to live the Capri experience. These include the two bags Lido and La Grotta Azzurra.
