Louis Vuitton‘s Cruise 2024 fashion show brought the prestigious French fashion house to the beautiful setting of Isola Bella, located in Lake Maggiore, Italy. This island, part of the Borromean Islands group and owned by the Borromeo family for several centuries, has a mysterious and enchanting atmosphere, with its Baroque gardens stretching along the southeastern coast.
Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2024 collection was presented in this unique location, creating this incredible mashup between fashion and the incredible beauty of this place. The theme of the fashion show saw the combination of the watery element of the lake and its treasures with sartorial details. The looks presented featured a range of outfits reminiscent of sea creatures emerging from Lake Maggiore, with details such as pleated fins, feather headdresses and jewelry, then goggles resembling diving masks.

Although original plans called for the show to be held outdoors in the gardens of Isola Bella, bad weather forced the show to be moved inside the island palace. However, Nicolas Ghesquière’s collection seemed ideal for dealing with the weather, with many garments made of waterproof materials such as neoprene. The models paraded along the cobblestone paths of the gardens, creating an unprecedented atmosphere reminiscent of mermaids and their magical underwater worlds. This choice is particularly timely, considering that as of yesterday, the new Disney live-action of “The Little Mermaid” can be seen in Italian cinemas.
SOME CELEBRITIES PRESENT AT THE LOUIS VUITTON SHOW
In addition to the extraordinary creations, the fashion show attracted a host of celebrities around the world. Among them Chiara Ferragni, Fedez, Léa Seydoux, Cate Blanchett, Sabrina Impacciatore, Alicia Vikander, Emma Stone, Félix, Dew Jirawat, Oprah, Stray Kids, Jennifer Connelly.
The choice of Isola Bella as the location for the fashion show was certainly not accidental. In recent years, Louis Vuitton has taken its fashion shows to iconic locations around the world, and this time the Italian island took center stage. Ghesquière wanted to pay homage to Italian heritage and culture, specifically collaborating with an atelier in Rome that created custom Baroque headpieces for the show.
Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2024 collection combined different styles, from bold to soft and delicate, mixing pastel color nuances, floral patterns with sea-related and fantastical details.
