The fashion system continues to offer us many trends and novelties every day. Fashion collections are varied between men’s and women’s fashions, whether Ready-to-Wear or Couture is of little importance.
However, this may not be enough, because it is becoming more and more common to find ourselves walking in the park and observe how even our beloved pets can become fashion victims. As early as the 1930s there began to be collections of clothes and accessories entirely dedicated to animals, this has now become a more than widespread phenomenon and the fashion world does not seem to want to remain indifferent. Clothing for animals is a market segment that is constantly expanding and evolving, and many fashion houses – from fast to high fashion – devote a lot of space to pet collections. The secret is to devise entirely dedicated lines or pieces inspired by bestsellers that are repurposed for animals.
Many people think that fashion collections dedicated to pets are superfluous, but despite the trendy appeal, especially clothing can provide protection from the cold – if we are talking about short-haired animals – especially during the colder seasons of the year.
Not only clothing, but also accessories including collars, harnesses, miniature sofas and ceramic bowls. Why not let our pets have this special fashionable experience too?
Recently, even Gucci, the well-known Italian fashion house headed by Alessandro Michele, has created a collection entirely dedicated to dogs and cats: Gucci Pet. A wide range of products including clothing and accessories rewrite the iconic Gucci imagery. This vibrant collection features the classic and timeless monogram, the GG Supreme fabric and some of the House’s most iconic pieces, revisited in a pet-friendly key.
To reduce the environmental impact and protect our planet, each item in the Gucci Pet collection is made from recycled fabrics and the new material created by the Italian fashion house, Demetra. This material, born after two years of research and experimentation, is produced entirely in Italy and is sustainable, quality, durable and above all pleasant to the touch.
Gucci Pet is cool and ethical, and you can see some of the collection’s emblematic products in this campaign photographed by Max Siedentopf with the creative direction of Alessandro Michele.
