It’s time to jumpsuit: the perfect fall’s fashion trend

As early as the 1940s, Elsa Schiaparelli began to popularise one of the most popular garments of the moment, but especially of the coming autumn season: the jumpsuit. However, it is important not to forget that the first jumpsuits were work clothes, while the one designed in 1940 by the founder of maison Schiaparelli – the shelter-suit – was equipped with a belt, pockets and trousers with elastic at the ankle. A few decades later, in 1970, French designer Yves Saint Laurent created a new model with long sleeves and palazzo trousers, a more chic and elegant garment.

Even today, this garment is undoubtedly versatile and unique, ideal for every day and perfect in other more glamorous situations. Whether jumpsuits are made of denim, leather, nylon or silk, it matters little, this garment never goes out of fashion, confirming itself as a must-have for the Fall/Winter 2022-2023 collections.

Focusing on autumn fashion trends, it seems that the attraction of fashion icons, celebrities and designers is increasingly turning to jumpsuits. We know different versions of them, from those inspired by the 70s to others much more similar to overalls, jumpsuits will increasingly be one of the most popular trends for autumn and winter.

There are many jumpsuits that we have seen featured on the catwalks of some of the most famous fashion houses. Chanel, Valentino, Marc Jacobs and many others, both Couture and Ready-to-Wear.
