Jil Sander: Resort 2023 collection

After a career of different projects and experiences, the design duo of Luke and Lucie Meier took over the creative direction of one of the industry’s most popular brands in 2017: Jil Sander.

The two inherited Rodolfo Paglialunga’s artistic vision, and their debut collection sees the light of day in 2018 for Spring/Summer. Lucie has worked for many brands, from Louis Vuitton to Marc Jacobs, via Dior and Balenciaga; Luke, on the other hand, after studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology and after a stint in streetwear with Supreme, met his wife and together they founded the brand OAMC.

Their idea of fashion is extremely genderless, there is never a clear distinction between male and female. Jil Sander‘s latest Resort 2023 collection is a clear expression of this. Their garments are a minimal tale between rigour and fluidity. This collection is an interplay of soft shades of colour, and an obvious common thread, black and white. The heritage of clean geometric lines is instead embellished with ruffles, pastel colours and midi-length dresses paired with square-toed boots.

The two designers speak of ‘deflating couture’, a definition that best expresses precisely that concept of fashion that is sculptural and soft at the same time. Modern, conceptual and extremely chic, this explains Jil Sander’s Resort 2023 collection.
