Sage green is the colour most closely associated with the concept of spirituality. In fact, centuries ago, personalities such as magicians and herbalists used sage – the plant from which it takes its name – as a means of purifying the spirit and body. In ancient Egypt, on the other hand, people used to sip herbal teas and infusions based on this plant, almost considered a natural medicine.
This colour is a less saturated variant of green, and is reminiscent of sage leaves. It is a very relaxing shade, in fact it is often used in rooms and can communicate a pleasant and soothing feeling of peace.
Sage green is undoubtedly one of the most popular pastel shades in the fashion system, in fact it has been among the most popular trends of the spring and summer seasons for some time now.
However, its version for Spring Summer 2022 appears revisited. The sage colour is often included in a very special and unusual colour mashup, a particular combination of more and less daring colours. For example, Bottega Veneta, with its latest collection designed by Daniel Lee, proposes sage green in perfect synchrony with emerald and forest green. It should not be excluded that different shades of the same colour can look good together, with fashion it is a never stay never.
It is not always the case that pastel and less saturated shades such as sage green have to be in combination at all costs. This ever-expanding new concept gives more value to influences and contaminations, from lightweight fabrics combined with eccentric appliqués, to daytime looks embellished with glittering glamorous details.
