If lace is considered a classic fabric, it is even more so when it comes in total-white. It has the scent of femininity, a slightly retro elegance, and a vaguely bridal air.
To give it a more informal and easy-chic tone for the Spring/Summer 2019, the designers opted for a colour palette that ranges from pastel shades of antique pink and fané yellow to more intense shades like fuchsia and coral. And not only this. Many brands have adapted its agé texture to cuts and up-to-date models that are ideal for an everyday look.
Vivetta chooses biker pants and turns them into an ultra-delicate garment thanks to a lace of green poudré, while Chanel chooses the softness of palazzo pants for a Riviera look in robin’s egg blue.
Self-Portrait and Rodarte instead focus on the elegant silhouettes of the midi dresses, making them more vivid through the shades of coral and fuchsia.
More delicate are Erdem and Alberta Ferretti, who also chose long and midi dresses, declining them in more boho and romantic versions thanks to the pastel colours.
For those who don’t like a total-lace outfit, even the detail is enough, as did Giambattista Valli, who decorated the necklines of his dresses with apricot lace edges.
