The haute couture week in Paris comes to an end, and Fendi is undoubtedly one of the best shows of the last day of Couture Week.
The show comes to life from monochromatic looks, through to transparencies and very light dresses covered in crystals.
For Fendi‘s couture collection, creative director Kim Jones introduced travel as her particular source of inspiration. The looks on the catwalk are in fact the story of different cultures and cities, from East to West, this collection oscillates pleasantly between Rome, Paris and Japan. The well-known Roman fashion house places itself in a global context, with hints of the past revisited in a modern key. The focus is always on tradition and craftsmanship, but the future is never so far away and in the background.
This haute couture collection by Fendi comes to life in a linear key, through geometric lines and monochromes, suits and some typical pieces of the male sartorial wardrobe. From here it is immediately dazzling sparkle, that of the very long dresses, and the interesting patchwork – of different but perfectly blended fabrics – of those less endowed with the shine effect. These include the long-sleeved dresses, very similar to the traditional Japanese kimono, handmade by Kyoto workers. The show ends with the lightness of embroidered dresses, floral clouds.

Through this couture collection, Kim Jones expresses her personal homage to the Roman fashion house’s collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld, to the artistic influence of one of the greatest and most visionary figures in the world of fashion, the man who worked alongside Silvia Venturini Fendi in the creative direction of Fendi until the last years of his life. The romantic slip dresses, in which sequins and chiffon are blended to perfection, were designed from some never-before-used samples made by Lagerfeld himself.
HAUTE COUTURE ACCESSORIES DESIGNED BY KIM JONES FOR FENDI
For accessories, the trend is definitely matchy matchy, while embellishing the models’ beauty on the catwalk is the jewellery designed by Delfina Delettrez. The earrings and ear cuffs worn are covered in crystals, these are one of the leitmotifs of Fendi’s couture collection, we find them on dresses, bags and as applications on gloves.
