Paris Haute Couture Week ended yesterday. During these days, fashion houses and designers presented their luxury collections for the upcoming Spring Summer 2023. Thus, amidst precious fabrics, elaborate applications and almost theatrical volumes, an incredible and unprecedented aesthetic came to life.
Under the eyes of the press, celebrities and influencers around the world, the fashion shows were a real success. Many of the shows have obviously caused discussion: see the lion – obv fake – made by Schiaparelli, or the surreal dresses by Viktor & Rolf.
For the coming season, we can only expect more glamour and opulence, the kind portrayed by maisons such as Dior and Jean-Paul Gaultier, to the ethereal mermaid allure of Iris Van Herpen‘s collection. The latter brand, once again this year, avoided the traditional catwalk, preferring a digital presentation, in contrast to Giambattista Valli who, to the notes of the soundtrack of the HBO hit ‘The White Lotus’, presented a collection of emblematic dresses and, above all, faithful to its traditional imagery.
With Paris Couture Week, which started after the presentation of the Menswear collections, a rich month entirely dedicated to fashion – between Couture and Ready-to-Wear – continues. The most famous fashion capitals from Paris to Milan, London and New York will once again be awash with style without.
To be able to talk about Haute Couture again now, we can only wait until July, when the fashion houses will present their Autumn Winter 2023/2024 collections.
