Many of you will already know her, we are talking about Phoebe Philo, one of the best known British designers. This designer has held some important positions in the fashion system, in fact from 2008 to 2018 she was creative director of Céline and from 2001 to 2006 of Chloé.
In 1996, after graduating from Central Saint Martins in London, Phoebe started working at Chloé (as assistant to Stella McCartney) for the Ready-to-wear collection in Paris. Just over 10 years later, in 2006, Phoebe Philo left Chloé. Then, in 2008, LVMH offered her the position of creative director and board member of Céline. Thus, over the years, this visionary with a so minimal allure has literally revolutionised and relaunched this French fashion house. An aesthetic under the banner of the essential, clean lines and delicate shades of colour.
DESIGNER PHOEBE PHILO, AFTER FIVE YEARS AWAY FROM THE FASHION SYSTEM, RETURNS IN SEPTEMBER WITH HER BRAND
Today, however, almost five years later, we are finally back to talk about Phoebe Philo. Yes, very soon we will be able to admire (once again) the fruits of the creative flair of one of the most beloved designers of the 21st century. In fact, Philo is about to launch a brand under her own name and, among the partners, LVMH has made an unexpected minority investment. The British designer has already opened the official Instagram account of her new fashion house, and the first post indicates that her inaugural collection will be unveiled on the official website Phoebephilo.com, in September 2023.
The designer’s return to the catwalk is eagerly awaited; LVMH President and CEO Bernard Arnault himself has described Phoebe Philo as one of the most talented designers of our time.
