Ralph Lauren has created a collection to celebrate the centenary of Wimbledon Centre Court and its 17th anniversary as the official brand of the famous tennis tournament. Two special collections were created, for men and women, and different immersive consumer experiences.
In addition, digital outfits were created on the well-known Roblox platform – the virtual world where lots of games are programmed.
THE WIMBLEDON COLLECTION BY POLO RALPH LAUREN
Inspired by one of the most elegant tournaments ever, the focus of this capsule collection are the iconic colours of the UK’s oldest sporting event: blue, green and white. A special selection of T-shirts, polo shirts, hoodies, cardigans and accessories including caps. This collection is entirely made through the responsible use of unique materials, breathable fabrics and natural fibres. Wimbledon by Polo Ralph Lauren will be available in Wimbledon Shops and on the official website, in selected Ralph Lauren shops and online.
THE NEW POLO RALPH LAUREN SHOP IN WIMBLEDON
For the duration of the championships, Polo Ralph Lauren will open a new shop in the Southern Village inspired by Wimbledon. This shop will feature a polo shirt created exclusively for Wimbledon, a selection of vintage pieces and a Create Your Own shop where you will be able to customise – with exclusive Wimbledon designs to embroider or print – some iconic Ralph Lauren products, including the classic polo shirt.
WHAT WILL BE THE SPECIAL CONSUMER EXPERIENCES?
Two special experiences will mark the entire duration of the Championships this year. On the second floor of the well-known British chain founded by Harry Gordon Selfridge in the early 1900s, all customers will be able to watch the tennis matches while enjoying strawberries and cream offered by Selfridges. Meanwhile in New Bond Street (London), the shop front will be entirely dedicated to Wimbledon and all tennis matches will be live-streamed in the windows. Meanwhile, customers will be able to watch the tournaments from the comfort of Ralph’s Coffee Pop-up.
