Spring/Summer 2022 Trends From Paris Fashion Week

We’ve already had a taste of it during Milan Fashion Week, but the Parisian one confirmed it: the trends for next Spring/Summer 2022 are hotter than ever. Sequins, transparencies, low waist (at times very low), oversized tailored outerwear and second-skin dresses, tell the story of a fashion that winks at the 2000s, infusing itself with a boyfriend style yet to be explored. Textures I see I don’t see are combined with boxer pants and varsity jackets for an unusual femininity.

STELLA MCCARTNEY

It focuses on cut-out details and neon colors, combining hyper-tight stretch tops with fluid, extra-large skirts and trousers. Stella Mccartney for summer 2022 strips off its classic shoes to wear new ones, more masculine but no less attractive. The pants are cargo and tight only at the waist with oversized belts to be dropped on the hips, the bodysuits and tops are instead a second skin to be combined with soft and woven cardigans that let you glimpse the shapes.

VALENTINO

Valentino for the SS22 strips off its usual formality and embraces a more casual fashion which, however, does not forget its original codes. The palettes are the iconic ones of the Italian Maison: purple, brown, yellow and black are the protagonists that are now declined on everyday look now on sophisticated dresses with unusual transparencies. There are also sequin mini dresses to pair with combat boots and chain necklaces bolder than ever. The extraordinary nature of Pierpaolo Piccioli lies right here, in always knowing how to refine every garment and accessory. Oversized boyfriend jeans are combined with embroidered tunics, sequined capes, and oversized shirts, while maxi dresses recall Greek shapes together with gladiators sandals and unusual feather bags.

MIU MIU

Miuccia, the real Miuccia is back. The Milanese fashion lady with Miu Miu manages to move away from the influences of Raf Simons and completely dress her truest clothes. That kind of fashion that knows how to make typically feminine garments genderless and vice versa is back, greeting the 2000s and interpreting them, perhaps for the first time, in a new and extraordinary way. Needless to hesitate, the keyword of this collection is miniskirt. Miuccia reinvents it and makes it more mini than ever and with a very low waist, to be combined with typically dad sweaters with braids that become crops to reveal androgynous and defined bodies. Outerwear is made of tailored and trench coats, coordinated suits are made of varsity sweatshirts and two-piece cable knits, all oversized and to be paired with midi skirts. The shoes, on the other hand, are pointed moccasins to be worn with socks, male ones, to be worn up on the calf.

CHANEL

Chanel moves to Saint Tropez for the SS 22. Black and white are the colors that most typically refer to Coco’s Maison and are also the undisputed protagonists of this latest collection, more maritime than ever. Virginie Viard reinterprets the 80’s bikinis and makes them a must-have. High-waisted slips are combined with tank tops to be worn with strings of chains to be woven around the neck as well as at the waist. Transparent sarongs complete the looks made of hyper-high-cut one-piece swimsuits and very low ballet flats. To these are added coord suits in patent leather or knit, with the iconic double C logo.

LOUIS VUITTON

Different generations, times, and stylistic codes are mixed in the Louis Vuitton SS22 women’s collection. Everything is reversed and reinvented, the night wardrobe becomes the day wardrobe and vice versa. The atmospheres of the grand bal materialize in sequined dresses with rigid and wide hips, to be combined with low lace-up sandals and oversized jackets. Denim is also a great protagonist of the collection, especially on relaxed-fit trousers and mini jackets with a round and fringed neckline. Cape coats and slip dresses come together to create unusual looks suitable for the everyday summer wardrobe.
