Shiny and with a glam charm that takes us back to the times of the Studio 54, the lamè fabric is a real must for this Spring/Summer 2019. But what is it exactly? Lamè is a fabric obtained by weaving lurex threads with silk, wool or cotton in order to make it light and glowing.
This sparkling trend has definitely won the world of the runways becoming the real focus of many Haute Couture and Prêt-a-porter collections. At the forefront Balmain that gave a touch of light to its iconically sensual silhouettes with those ’80’s shoulders, above all for the dresses and tops proposals. Missoni too, historically accostumed to the lurex fabrics, opted in these hot seasons not only for some desert shades in the iconic zigzag pattern, but also for unusual ones like the camouflage on super maxi dresses. Together with them also Philosophy by Lorenzo Serafini with some Ancient Greece inspired shapes, Saint Laurent with some proposals that recall the disco music times and again Armani, Chloè, Versace…
