Conceived as a mindset, The Attico is a brand in constant metamorphosis. Life At Large is the latest of the brand’s projects, perhaps the most special, born from the need to expand an audience that believes in inclusion. The will, say the founders Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini, is to explore the unexplored, not looking out into a new world but looking at it with different eyes, the eyes of those who are immersed in everyday life. The Attico does not abandon its strong and iconic aesthetic, but expands it with Life At The Large, immersing itself in the universe of leisurewear.
The Attico is not only a party dress, but also the Saturday morning croissant that does not lose its after dark spirit. Size, age, gender and sexuality come together in a unicum of pieces born from a multifaceted and, in some ways, amateur digital project. A few months ago on the brand’s social profiles, in fact, the charity “Door Is Open” appeared, a call to action in all respects that invited non-professional models to take part in the Life At Large campaign. The response from the public, the founders say, was astounding: more than three thousand e-mails in a few days to be able to participate in the casting. The result? Shots, videos, interviews that not only tell the story of a collection, but that of all the faces that took part in it, in an emotional journey that, in these times, the fashion public deserved. The approach is new and successful and, as Gilda and Giorgia state, it will be one of The Attico‘s new vademecum.
The spirit of the collection is casual and sporty, the shapes are soft, the dramatic volumes and the color palette plays on neutral and organic tones. The favorite materials are jersey, washed canvas, cotton poplin, nylon and fleece, all characterized by treatments that make them look like the super worn garments of our wardrobes that we would never want to give up. The iconic padded shoulder straps remained, this time not on oversized blazers, but on sweatshirts and T-shirts designed to be worn as a minidress. The pants, rigorously wide with cargo and skater shapes, have a low waist, the mini skirts a torchon shape. The tops are short, the sleeves flowing and complemented by boxy work jackets, oversized raincoats and nylon bomber jackets. Among the proposals there is also a yoga set with an all-over logo print. The latter is another great protagonist of Life At Large, also developed in the camouflage version and with a colorful pattern that suggests visions of infrared thermal cameras. As a fil rouge throughout the collection, the logo also makes socks, caps, belts and bags iconic. The shoes, which have now become an obsession among fashion icons, have the new and iconic chunky heel or are flat fussbett with strong soles. Life at Large is The Attico on a wider horizon, it is an invitation to the public to free their instincts.
