The logogram obsession is a trend that mixes lettering and patterns, as well as conveying an ad hoc brand communication that imprints the symbol of a brand in our minds. The fashion week runways for the Spring/Summer 2019 were invaded by double letters ranging from the CC of Chanel on PVC and lamb bags and sandals, to the Italian bronzed GG coveted by the belt loops of all the jeans.
Among them, we must include a logo that became the most beloved, famous and above all most copied monogram pattern: the Louis Vuitton monogram LV.
A seasonal must-have that has come directly from the the Pre-Spring 2019 shoots on celebrities’ and influencers’ Instagram stories, the Onthego bag with Monogram pattern mixes the versatility of a large and roomy shopping bag with the structuralist and double-chrome design by Nicolas Ghesquière.
Oversize, with finishes in canvas and Tornon handles, the Onthego is reminiscent of Sex & The City, of Charlotte York who brings chocolate pudding in her branded clutch: it’s a bag in which to carry a bottle of fresh water, cases of sunglasses, in which to lose the keys and find them again after removing all our microcosm of femininity.
Next to the maxi accessory there is also the mini one, with a fanny pack that combines the practicality of the pouch with the trend setter elegance of the belt bag. With an adjustable waist belt, the model incorporates the oval-shaped Nineties design of the classic Vuitton pouch with the Mini or Giant Monogram motif in bright colours like cherry red.
To be worn at the waist or cross body for a more urban chic allure, it is the accessory on the mouth, or rather on the profiles, of all the IT-girls.
