The arrival of the third season of Stranger Things on Netflix is literally making the lovers of the series quiver. Perhaps only Game of Thrones and Twin Peaks have been able to create a fandom around them that goes beyond the concept of hype to lead to that of a fashion sub-culture made up of garments inspired by the shows.
The case of Stranger Things, however, is more unique than rare, because the fashion world has dedicated itself not only to making clothes with logos and printed images, but has revived, through mom jeans, short-sleeved shirts and baseball hats, the style of the Eighties got back on the map by the Hawkins guys.
After the Nike capsule collection, also LEVI’S announces a collection dedicated to Stranger Things with unique pieces created with the Netflix costume designers, that will be available worldwide from the 1st July.
In addition to revisited classics such as the Batwing Tee, which turns from white to a black dark as a stormy sky completed with lightnings in flashing red, there will be some truly unmissable and almost collectable items.
The El Pleated jeans, in black denim and with a wide outline, large on the thighs and with cigarette lines from the knee down, with a beautiful high waist decorated with crossed straps, are combined with the Aztec Print shirt, in mustard yellow and with black geometric motifs, and we’ll see them worn by Millie Bobby Brown , aka Eleven, in Stranger Things 3.
And then there are the Trucker hat and the Camp Know Where Ringer t-shirt worn by Gaten John Matarazzo, aka Dustin.
To top it all, a campaign shot in the Starcourt Mall, the main set of the new Stranger Things season.
In short, it is 1985 again for LEVI’S, a brand that most defined the aesthetics of those years, and that now, through reversed labels reminiscent of the ‘Upside Down’, denim jackets and almost faded colors, brings back in our closets the excitement of a golden age made of Blaster stereos, excellent music and a rock’n’roll romanticism.
