The Trends Of The Next A/W 2021/22 From the Catwalks

The second edition of this completely digital Milan Fashion Week ends today. While waiting for the latest big names like Valentino, who will close the women’s fashion week this afternoon, the maxi trends for next Autumn / Winter 2021/22 are starting to be declared in unison. In general, no it will not be a twist, all the big brands seem to agree with a mood that is more than relaxed. Cozywear is in fact the great protagonist of the proposals on the catwalk, outclassing mini dresses and high heels that seem to have been left in the wardrobes of post-pandemic life. Trousers, overalls and work jackets will be the essential elements of every look in step with the times. There is the great comeback of bomber jackets and oversized pullovers, combined with wide trousers or leggings that hug the body like a second skin. Accessories will opt for maxi volumes: shoes and bags will adapt to the needs of a comfortable and enveloping life. The color palettes are an ode to the return to origins: browns, beiges, greens and grays praise the earth and its boundless (and rediscovered) beauty. The materials are warm and comfortable: faux fur, jacquard, cashmere, alpaca and jersey among the favorites.

COZYWEAR

The favorite and best suited to the needs of the contemporary woman. Cozywear is now the only protagonist of next season’s fashion: the dresses are large, enveloping, warm. We play with layering without paying too much attention to the matching, the colors collide giving life to a harmonious and organic unicum. Favorite items are work trousers, bomber jackets, oversized sweatshirts and pullovers and technical clothing. The shoes? Strictly low.

EARTH TONES

The favorite nuances of the next A / W will be warm and organic. Among the nuances to be combined without too much delay, brown, red, beige, gray and khaki green are preferred.

CUISSARDES BOOTS

As the name suggests, the trendy boots of the next A / W will be high, wide and strictly thigh high. Among the materials leather and suede stand out and the nuances, well needless to underline it, are beige, brown and military green.

SEQUINS

Sequins are the surprise of the next Fall / Winter trends. To contrast the comfortable mood protagonist of all clothing proposals, sequins are the sparkling detail that makes the most sought-after outfits iconic. But don’t be fooled! Sequins will also be the protagonists of oversized coats, as in the case of Prada, wide trousers to combine with dad pullovers, as for Alberta Ferretti, and minimal dresses to wear with flat shoes or lace-ups.

ECO FUR

Furs yes, but strictly ecological. The return to the earth and its creatures seems to have further moved the big brands, which prefer ecological materials to animal ones, even for the season which usually, unfortunately, gives them among the favorites. Prada and Alberta Ferretti make them ambassadors with a proposal of faux fur coats to make every fashion addicted’s head spin.

FRINGES

With a 70s mood, fringes are the protagonists of oversized coats, mini dresses and caridgan to wear strictly open and with a belt at the waist
