5 TV series to watch this autumn on Prime Video

In terms of films and TV series to watch, autumn holds many surprises in store. There are a variety of streaming platforms to subscribe to in order to keep up, to watch your favourite series, or simply to get to know new ones.

Right after the summer, Amazon’s streaming platform, Prime Video, guarantees a palimpsest full of alternatives not to be missed. We have compiled a guide of five of the most interesting TV series not to be missed this autumn. Since September, Prime Video’s offer has been enriched with films and TV series, some of which are already available as of 1 September, but from October things start to get even more exciting.

Among the most popular series is certainly The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. This fantasy series, based on the novel The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien, debuted last September on Prime Video with just two episodes. The other six will debut every Friday until the season’s conclusion, scheduled for 14 October.

5 MUST-SEE TV SERIES AVAILABLE ON PRIME VIDEO

1. THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is an American television series created by J.D. Pane and Patick McKay based on the novel The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. Each episode of the series is set before the events recounted in the original film and in The Hobbit. They tell of the Second Age of Middle-earth, the period of the forging of the famous Rings of Power and the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron.

2. THIS IS US

Also coming this autumn on Prime Video is the final chapter of This Is Us, created by Dan Fogelman and starring Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore as Jack and Rebecca. The series is about the two protagonists, a married couple whose lives become complicated when she becomes pregnant with triplets and things don’t seem to go as hoped.

3. UN ASUNTO PRIVADO

This Spanish series, with a large cast including Jean Reno, Aura Garrido, Andrés Velencoso and Ángela Molina, premiered in September this year. The first eight episodes were launched, telling a story set in the late 1940s, of a young policewoman who, with the help of her butler, goes in search of the serial killer who has been frightening the city of Galicia for months.

4. PRISMA

The TV series Prisma tells the story of Marco and Andrea, twins who defy gender norms in different ways. This tale is an adventurous search for their innermost being, along the way the two will also involve their world of friends. All in search of their identity, their place in the world.

5. THE GOOD FIGHT

The Good Fight is a US television series created by Robert and Michelle King, with a large cast including Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo and Rose Leslie. The plot of this series – a spin-off of The Good Wife – is about a huge financial scam that will destroy the reputation of the young lawyer Maia involving her mentor Diane Lockhart. The two will have to start from scratch.
