We finally have a date: the second season of the Gossip Girl reboot will debut exclusively on Sky and streaming only on NOW on December 2. With one episode a week given at the same time as its debut on HBO Max, the iconic teen drama about the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite developed by showrunner Joshua Safran, former writer and executive producer of the original series of the same name, returns. The new episodes are also based on the bestselling novels by Cecily von Ziegesar and the original show developed by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. For those who missed the first season, it is available on demand on Sky and streaming on NOW.
The plot of the second season
It’s the second half of the last year and Gossip Girl is intent on giving no one a break by checking out the scandalous lives and lies of the scions of Manhattan’s elite. After all, one must give one’s audience what one’s audience wants. So now it is time for her to get back into action and look at her own impact and how she can make it more catastrophic than before, even if that would mean lying. Old enemies, new allies, everything in flux: there can only be one queen, and by the end of the school year everyone will know where secrets have been (un)buried…and who has brought them out into the open.
The cast of the second season of Gossip Girl includes Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak, Savannah Lee Smith and Grace Duah. Guest stars Michelle Trachtenberg.
