Inaugurated on the occasion of Milan Design Week 2021, Gucci Cartoleria is a temporary store where space and time seem to have stopped. Conceived to present Maison’s new Lifestyle collection, Gucci Cartoleria takes inspiration from the stationeries of Milan in the 1960s, where you got lost in the smell of paper, pencils, and handcrafted playsets.
“When I was a child, going to the stationery shop and finding pencils, pens, notebooks, games, was equivalent to bringing dreams into my daily routine. They were well-finished, well-made objects with an artisanal taste that, although belonging to my daily life, were able to give off a magical, strange, wonderful aura” Alessandro Michele thus presents Gucci Cartoleria, anticipating the entrance to a shop that smells of a workshop fairytale in the heart of via Manzoni in Milan.
Until September 17th it will be possible to immerse yourself in the magical and wonderful world of Gucci Cartoleria, a bizarre container of everyday objects that give the same sense of amazement as a dress or an accessory. Inside the store, it will be possible to shop notebooks with iconic graphic and floral motifs of the Maison, but also the Disney characters dear to Gucci such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. Together with them, notepaper boxes, sets of colored pencils, boxes, paperweights, board games, and dice, in collaboration with some historic stationery and gaming companies such as Caran d’Ache and Modiano.
Other items include the iconic elements of the Gucci Lifestyle collection such as fans, sleep masks, pillows, slippers, and silk pajamas.
