The MTV Video Music Awards 2023 delivered an emotionally charged evening, with Taylor Swift, as often happens, sweeping up awards, but also with some surprises and plenty of disappointments. The queen of pop music claimed the stage with a series of expected victories, but there were also many surprises.
Indeed, while Taylor celebrated her triumph, even surpassing the powerhouse Beyoncé in three categories, there was disappointment for artists like Miley Cyrus, who didn’t win any awards despite six nominations, and then Sam Smith and Kim Petras, whose success with “Unholy” was overshadowed once again by Swift.
Furthermore, the surprises of the evening included Måneskin winning Best Rock, defeating bands of the caliber of Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
In conclusion, this year too, the MTV VMAs 2023 showcased the best of international music, with triumphs, disappointments, and memorable moments.
