Halloween is just around the corner, and everyone can’t wait to indulge on the sofa and enjoy one of the new films and TV series offered by the most popular streaming platforms.
Not only novelties, many are also content with the great classics. Among the most popular TV series is American Horror Story, and as films you will certainly remember Nightmare and It (chapter one and two).
To celebrate all things Halloween, we have created a small selection of a film and two TV series to watch.
A FILM AND TWO NEW TV SERIES TO WATCH FOR HALLOWEEN
1. THE WATCHER (2022), WRITTEN BY RYAN MURPHY AND IAN BRENNAN
Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, veterans of the successful Netflix series Dahmer, are launching a new thriller series that already looks very promising. The Watcher, starring Naomi Watts, promises to be a new TV series full of secrets to be revealed. The plot tells of Dean (Bobby Cannavale) and Nora Brannock (Naomi Watts) who have just bought their dream home in the beautiful residential area of Westfield, New Jersey. Only after buying it and investing all their savings will the protagonists immediately realise how closely they are being watched by all the residents of the neighbourhood.
2. WEDNESDAY/WEDNESDAY (2022), DIRECTED BY TIM BURTON
Wednesday will be the absolute star of the Netflix series of the same name, in the original language titled as Wednesday. Created by Salmville Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the creators of the television hit Smalville, it will be a comedy series that will follow the adventures of one of the best-loved members of the famous Addams Family. Wednesday will be starring Jenna Ortega, the series instead directed by master director Tim Burton. We will live the adventures of a very young high school student at the Nevermore Academy, Wednesday. How will she learn to manage her psychic powers to shed light on everything that has affected her family for the past 25 years? She will also have to try to foil a series of murders that affect the small town.
3. HALLOWEEN ENDS (2022), DIRECTED BY DAVID GORDON GREEN
The thirteenth film in the famous Halloween saga, Halloween Ends is also the last film in the trilogy that began in 2018. Directed by David Gordon Green. It stars Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode, Andi Matichak as Allyson Nelson and James Jude Courtney as Michael Myers. The events of this film are set a full four years after the events of last year’s Halloween Kills. Laurie is living with her niece Allyson and finishing writing her memoirs, while Michael Myers has never been seen since. Amidst various events that will follow one another, we will see the protagonist Laurie finally face the evil she can no longer control.
