At last, even the Italian market is starting to have more streaming entertainment offerings. The latest addition is Paramount+ streaming service that promises to offer Italian audiences a mountain of quality entertainment across all genres: exclusive global and local original content, blockbusters and iconic series from world-renowned Paramount brands and studios, including SHOWTIME®, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures and Smithsonian Channel™.
Most anticipated titles
International series that will be available on Paramount+ in Italy include THE OFFER, based on Oscar®-winning producer Albert S. Ruddy’s extraordinary, never-before-seen experience. Ruddy in the making of “The Godfather”; THE MAN WHO FALLED TO THE EARTH, which follows a new alien character who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution; and TULSA KING, starring Sylvester Stallone as Dwight “The General” Manfredi, who has just been released from a 25-year prison sentence and unceremoniously exiled by his boss to settle in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In addition, Paramount+ will host a selection of new blockbuster films after release in theaters and home entertainment, including “Scream 5” and “Top Gun: Maverick ” which will arrive on the platform in Italy later this year.
Paramount continues to invest in Italy and with Paramount+ focuses on Italian products and talent with a series of unmissable original content, such as the newly announced: FRANCESCO IL CANTICO, the exegesis of one of the most iconic texts dedicated to love, and moments from the life of Francis made by Roberto Benigni; also, the new season of VITA DA CARLO and more, featuring beloved Italian actor and comedian Carlo Verdone as director and star of this series that everyone is waiting for with great interest, as well as CIRCEO, MISS FALLACI, QUATTORDICI GIORNI, TI MANGIO IL CUORE, CORPO LIBERO, EX ON THE BEACH ITALIA and ARE YOU THE ONE ITALIA. Animated series, such as the new editions of “Beavis and Butt-Head” and “South Park,” will also have an Italian “twist,” thanks to the voices of comic writers and stand-up comedians Edoardo Ferrario and Luca Ravenna, and Riccardo Zanotti and Elio Biffi of the Nuclear Tactical Penguins. The scripted series will also include all previously announced originals, including BOSÉ, a six-episode series chronicling the incredible life of Miguel Bosè, an international superstar who began his career in the late 1970s.
How much does it cost?
In Italy, Paramount+ will be available online on major browsers at paramountplus.it, from mobile and through a wide selection of connected TVs through Apple, Amazon, Google, Samsung and others.
Users can access the service for 7.99 euros with a 7-day trial period and option to cancel at any time. It will also be possible to take out an annual subscription at a cost of 79.90 euros, again with a 7-day trial period and the option to cancel at any time. In addition, users will be able to take advantage of a special launch promo: for the first eleven days only (until September 25), Paramount+ will be available for 4.99 euros per month for 12 months with a 7-day trial period. It will be possible to cancel at any time, with no strings attached. The promo will be available only on paramountplus.co.uk and iOS.
Paramount+ will also be available on Sky as part of the new Europe-wide multi-year agreement. Thanks to this agreement, Sky subscribers with Sky Cinema will be able to access Paramount+ content from September 23 at no additional cost. From the same date, the Paramount+ app will also be available on Sky Q and Sky Glass.
Italian content
As part of Paramount’s plan to greenlight 150 pieces of original international content by 2025, Paramount+ brings Hollywood to Italy. Italian audiences will find a mountain of quality entertainment that already includes an important portfolio of content produced in Italy:
FRANCESCO IL CANTICO, made by Roberto Benigni, and a new season of VITA DA CARLO, the first of more productions by Luigi and Aurelio de Laurentiis starring Carlo Verdone, the beloved comedian and actor who takes on the role of director and star of this highly anticipated second season full of funny and original adventures of an Italian comedy champion.
CIRCEO, the series produced by Cattleya in collaboration with VIS, the international division of Paramount Studios, Paramount+ and RAI Fiction that retraces all the stages of the trial following the terrible 1975 news case that radically changed Italian society. Based on an idea by Flaminia Gressi and a subject by Flaminia Gressi and Lisa Nur Sultan, the series is written by the two authors together with Viola Rispoli and directed by Andrea Molaioli. In addition to protagonists Greta Scarano and Ambrosia Caldarelli, the cast also includes Pia Lanciotti, Adalgisa Manfrida and Enrico Iannello among others.
FOURteen Days, an original Paramount+ Italian production, directed by Ivan Cotroneo and written by Cotroneo with Monica Rametta, coming to the platform in late September, which follows the story of a couple in crisis forced into two weeks of enforced seclusion, starring Carlotta Natoli and Thomas Trabacchi. Fourteen Days is produced by Indigo Film.
The series FREE BODY a co-production of Indigo Film and Network Movie, in co-production with ZDFNeo, in collaboration with Rai Fiction and Paramount+ and in association with All3Media International, which will be available from the end of October. A gripping teen-drama thriller set in the world of artistic gymnastics, starring Antonia Truppo and Filippo Nigro, among others. The series, which marks the fiction directorial debut of Cosima Spender and Valerio Bonelli, is based on the novel of the same name by Ilaria Bernardini and written with Chiara Barzini, Ludovica Rampoldi and Giordana Mari.
TI MANGIO IL CUORE by Pippo Mezzapesa, a film produced by Indigo Film with Rai Cinema in collaboration with Paramount+, will be released in theaters on September 22 distributed by 01 Distribution and will then be available from January 2023 exclusively on Paramount+, starring Elodie, in her acting debut, and Francesco Patanè. Acclaimed at the 79th Venice International Film Festival, it is based on Carlo Bonini and Giuliano Foschini’s novel of the same name about the Apulian mafia, in which Elodie plays the role of Marilena, wife of one of the local bosses but in love with the heir to the enemy family. Alongside the two leads, the cast also includes Francesco Di Leva, Lidia Vitale, Giovanni Trombetta, Letizia Pia Cartolaro, Giovanni Anzaldo, Gianni Lillo, Brenno Placido, Tommaso Ragno with the extraordinary participation of Michele Placido.
MISS FALLACI, debuting in 2023, the Paramount+ original series dedicated to one of the most controversial icons of Italian and international journalism, Oriana Fallaci.
BOSÉ, the TV series that will portray the incredible life of an artist with a unique and highly recognizable personality, Miguel Bosè. The six-episode series will transport viewers to different moments in the singer-songwriter’s career, which began in the late 1970s, revealing the stories behind the inspiration, composition, and recording of some of his most iconic works, and how this success has affected his personal life. The series will reveal untold secrets, offer us an inside look at his circle of friends and show the extraordinary relationship between Miguel and his parents.
And the Italian versions of unscripted shows, both produced by Freemantle: the new season of MTV’s EX ON THE BEACH ITALIA, with Cecilia Rodriguez and Ignazio Moser as hosts, and ARE YOU THE ONE ITALIA, the first Italian version of MTV’s iconic dating show, with Luca Vezil on his first run.

Beavis and Butt-Head, one of the most iconic animated duos of the 1990s, is about to return with BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD TO CONQUEST THE UNIVERSE, a story that technically spans two centuries and promises to top all future lists of the dumbest science fiction movies ever made. The saga begins when Beavis and Butt-Head end up in a space camp thanks to a juvenile court judge’s “creative sentencing” in 1998. After screwing up a mission, they are marooned in space and end up traversing a black hole and re-emerging on Earth in 2022, only to discover a very different world. Lending their voices are two exceptional Italian stand-up comedians and comedy writers, Edoardo Ferrario and Luca Ravenna.
SOUTH PARK THE STREAMING WARS follows Cartman as he clashes with his mother in a battle of wills as an epic conflict unfolds that threatens the very existence of South Park, while in SOUTH PARK THE STREAMING WARS – PART 2 a drought has brought the town of South Park to the brink of disaster.
The films will feature Riccardo Zanotti and Elio Biffi, members of the musical group Pinguini Tattici Nucleari, who will voice different characters: Riccardo will play a weather reporter in the first episode and actress Gwyneth Paltrow in the second, while Elio, who voices a guide in the first episode, will lend his voice to comedian Larry David in the second film.

The series will follow Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock and Number One in the years leading up to Captain Kirk’s boarding of the U.S.S. Enterprise as they explore new worlds in the galaxy.
