Watching films at the weekend is a popular way to relax that many people resort to, especially after a busy working week. In recent times, the world of cinema and television series continues to give us a wide selection of must-see titles.
There is also an endless variety of streaming platforms that allow us to enjoy a variety of unreleased films, TV series and documentaries directly from home.
The cinema experience is still a moment that many people do not like to give up. Studies show that watching films as a leisure activity has a number of positive effects, but there is only one aspect of this activity that can be more challenging: deciding which film to watch.
In Italy, a weekend full of very interesting film offerings will begin tomorrow.
It is not so easy to resist the lure of the most eagerly awaited films on the schedule. Among those coming this very weekend, the new film from the horror romance genre directed by Italian director Luca Guadagnino, starring Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russel: Bones and all, shines. After successes such as Call me by your name, Suspiria, A Bigger Splash and I am Love, Guadagnino returns to give us a taste of his imagery and rich aesthetics, this time in an almost noir key.
BONES AND ALL’S PLOT
This film is the original adaptation of the novel of the same name by American writer Camille DeAngelis. Presented a few months ago at the Venice Film Festival, Bones and All has a very intense plot.
Bones and All tells the story of a first love. Maren, a girl learning to survive on the margins of society, and Lee, a vagabond with a fighting spirit. The two will travel hundreds of miles across Ronald Reagan’s America, but whatever road they take will only lead them back to their terrible pasts.
One of the central themes of this story is cannibalism, set in the context of a forbidden young love story. The central parable of the story is that terrible secret thought, frightening but also euphoric, of the I am different.
The cannibalism of the two protagonists has, however, something bizarrely innocent about it. One of Guadagnino’s main objectives is to provoke us into believing that the two are outlaw victims of fate. Will he succeed?
