Chanel’s Spring- Summer 2023 Haute Couture show gave us breathtaking creations, the return of the bow tie, Corgis as the new obsession animal, but most of all, Apple Martin‘s big debut. The daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Christ Martin, now 18, is practically a copy of mom Gwyn and her public (and social) appearances can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Fashion Editor Dereck Blasberg – a family friend – posted a series of photos of Apple at the Chanel fashion show commenting that Karl himself, years ago, had said she would one day become a muse for the Maison, and apparently that day has come.

Sitting in the front row next to stars such as Marion Cotillard, Vanessa Paradis, and Lucy Boynton, Apple Martin wore a black and white tweed dress with matching jacket, loafers, and shoulder bag, a classic Chanel look that establishes her as the fashion house’s new muse, without a shadow of a doubt.
Do you remember the photo of Hailey Bieber in a T-shirt that read nepo baby? Well, as of today Apple is definitely the new face of this rich and fun group. But who are the nepo babies? Nepo babies are what we in Italy call children of art or daddy’s children. The literal translation is obviously “nepotism babies” in the U.S. they already go harder, but the concept remains the same. In fact a mechanism as old as show-biz itself, so nothing scandalous, what is true is that certainly today the landscape is particularly rich in this field. For example, Cooper Hoffman, son of Philip Seymour, was in the delightful Licorice Pizza; Maya Hawk, daughter of Ethan Hawk and Uma Thurman, in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things; Lily Collins, daughter of Phil Collins, in the much-loved Emily in Paris; Lily-Rose Depp, daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, in the upcoming The Idol; Margaret Qualley, daughter of Andy MacDowell, in Maid. Also, Scott Eastwood, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rumer Willis and many others.
Gwyneth herself is a child of art, her mom being actress Blythe Danner and her father director and producer Bruce Paltrow, because Apple never falls far from the tree.
