Just remember the numbers that The Ferragnez wedding generated to understand the engagement she can create on the Internet and the return on the brands she works with. She’s a CEO, she’s a mother, she’s a wife and now she’s also filming her documentary: she’s a constant source of inspiration to believe in the goals we want to reach and to be always the best person we can be.
Many celebrities like Chiara Ferragni decided to start their own business. Do you want to discover our favourite businesswomen? Just scroll down!
Kylie Jenner
Forbes featured Kylie Jenner on its cover as the youngest self-made billionaire of the United States of America in July, and we’re still talking about it. The youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan launched her beauty brand Kylie Cosmetics in 2016, reaching revenues of 630 million dollars. The magazine valued her fortune 900 million dollars, of which 800 million came from her brand. She grew up as a makeup addicted because she was insecure about her thin lips. Now she’s going to overcome Mark Zuckerberg as the youngest self-made billionaire at only 21 years old!
Oprah Winfrey
Talking about businesswomen, it’s quite difficult not to mention Oprah! With The Oprah Winfrey Show, broadcasted until 2011, she conquered the title of “queen of all media”. Today, besides being politically and socially involved, she runs her production company Harpo Studios, and she founded the broadcaster Oxygen Media, the Own network and O magazine. Barack Obama once said that she’s the most powerful woman in the world, not just in America. According to Forbes, she’s the 6th most influent American Self-Made Woman.
Kim Kardashian West
Inspired by her younger sister Kylie, Kim Kardashian decided to launch her beauty venture, too. After the not exciting experience with Kardashian Beauty, which she and her sisters Kourtney and Khloé ran through licensing agreements, she created a label that represents her at 100%. In June 2017, she launched the very first KKW Beauty product: a contour kit, her favourite makeup technique. The first 300 thousand pieces went sold out in hours, generating sales for 14 million dollars. Now her cosmetic line has extended also to eyeshadows, fragrances, and lipsticks. In June, she opened her first pop-up store in Los Angeles.
Rihanna
This girl she’s doing everything, from pop star to designer to beauty guru! Her makeup brand Fenty Beauty, launched one year ago, became a real hit thanks to her desire to create a beauty line accessible to every woman, no matter what her skin tone is. The singer also worked on a successful collection with Puma and she recently made headlines with her lingerie brand Savage X Fenty fashion show at New York Fashion Week!
Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen
It’s been a while since Olsen twins were the most famous teenage stars with their movies. Today they are the creative directors of the fashion brand The Row, and they’re among the most influential American designers in the world, awarded also by the CFDA. They recently expanded into accessories and shoes for The Row, but we have to tell you that they also run a more affordable label, Elizabeth & James, named after their youngest siblings.
Jessica Alba
We already told you why we love Jessica Alba so much. She was one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood, but it wasn’t enough. In 2011, she launched The Honest Company, focused on beauty and healthcare products made with organic ingredients and without harmful chemicals. Her business has been valued at around 1,7 billion dollars.
Reese Whiterspoon
Probably you remember Reese Whiterspoon for the unforgettable Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. But she’s much more! The Academy Award winner founded in 2012 a production company, Pacific Standard, becoming one of the most powerful producers in the American film industry. In Big Little Lies, for example, she’s both actor and producer. Her goal is to bring stories written by up-and-coming women to the big screen, Gone Girl and Wild.
Victoria Beckham
Do you remember when Victoria Beckham made her first steps in the fashion world? Well, it was ten years ago! The former Spice Girl just celebrated this anniversary at London Fashion Week. Today she has a 30 million pounds turnover brand and she partnered with famous brands Reebok and Estée Lauder.
Gwyneth Paltrow
In Hollywood, it’s not easy to succeed as female entrepreneurs. Gwyneth Paltrow is the exception that proves the rule. Launched as a newsletter dedicated to food recipes, beauty tips, and healthy suggestions, Goop today is one of the most influent lifestyle website, where you can find interesting articles and contents but also shop beautiful designer collaborations (Stella McCartney was one of them!), skincare products and much more. In 2017, Paltrow signed a deal with Condé Nast to launch a print edition of the magazine.
