Scheduled for May 2020, the Gossip Girl Reboot is among the most anticipated series of this year. Curated by Josh Safran and launched by the HBO broadcaster, the reboot includes 10 new episodes in which the stories of Upper East Side students will alternate, commented on by the most venomous big brother: Gossip Girl.
The reboot of the series that made Blake Lively (Serena Van Der Woodsen) and Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) famous was re-read by its original creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage in a 2.0 key. In short, even the reboot as well as the original will be in step with the times and this time not only for fashion trends! The protagonists will in fact be tormented by GG but through the most used social network in the world: Instagram. It will touch on current and profound issues such as that of cyberbullying, dealing with it as only our favourite protagonists can do. But by the way: who will be the protagonists?
The Gossip Girl reboot will talk about a changed Manhattan, social and in which the sharing of daily content on mobile phones has entered anyone’s mindset. In fact, if you think about it, Gossip Girl was a bit of a forerunner of what happened to our society after the advent of Instagram, which is why there will only be links with the original series, but the plot will be newΒ and daughter of the completely different era in which we live today. Imagine how Instagram Stories could affect the lives of Manhattan’s golden bachelors! There are still not too many confirmations from the old cast, for now, it seems that the only one to have confirmed his presence is Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald) but what will become of Chuck, Dan, Serena, Blair and little J? What we can spoil is that the protagonists will no longer be Blair, Serena and their relationship of love and hate, but a girl!
Emily Alyn Lind will be the new protagonist of Gossip Girl and will play Audrey: a girl who has had a long-term relationship and is beginning to wonder what could be after it. Nothing more is known about her, except that Lind has declared to be super excited for this new and unexpected interpretation. Who knows if the Gossip Girl Reboot will live the tragedy of the sequels, never as loved as the originals, or if instead, it will return to make us passionate about the Upper East Side events … for now let’s start the countdown! XOXO
