Zoë Isabella Kravitz is a well-known American actress, singer, and model. Born in 1988, she is an art offspring, with artist Lisa Bonet and musician Lenny Kravitz as her parents (together from 1987 to 1993), one of the most beloved power couples of all time. Kravitz attended the Miami Country Day School and the Rudolf Steiner School in Manhattan, graduating in 2007. In the same year, she began studying acting under the guidance of Scott McCrea at the State University of New York at Purchase, alongside peers like Micah Stock and Jason Ralph. However, she left college after a year and moved to Brooklyn, New York, to start working in the film industry.
Zoë made her acting debut in the 2007 film “No Reservations,” but she reached the height of popularity by playing the role of Angel Salvadore in the superhero film “X-Men: First Class.”
She is also remembered for other roles in films and some successful TV series. Among these, the HBO drama series “Big Little Lies” (2017-2019), where Zoë Kravitz earned a nomination for the Screen Actors Guild Award. She also starred in the 2015 series “Toast the Knowing” in “Mad Max: Fury Road.” From here, the actress increasingly embraced the world of cinema, appearing in independent films such as “Dope” (2015), “Gemini” (2017), and “Kimi” (2022). However, her most successful roles were in the two films of the “Fantastic Beasts” saga in 2016 and 2022. In 2021, she played the role of Catwoman, which she had previously voiced in the animated film “LEGO Batman,” in the film “The Batman,” alongside Robert Pattinson.
At the same time, Zoë Kravitz pursues a career as a musician and model. In the realm of fashion and beauty, she has been the face of YSL Beauté since 2017 and has also worked with Balenciaga, Tiffany & Co, Vera Wang, Alexander Wang, Calvin Klein, and many other famous fashion houses. Her style is the perfect embodiment of a special goth-chic imaginary.
While constantly evolving, Zoë Kravitz’s aesthetic imagination seems to lean towards a wardrobe with a decidedly dark allure. Over the years, Zoë Kravitz has had the opportunity to experiment with and try different styles. Still, today, from the sequined Saint Laurent dress worn at the Met Gala in 2019 to the elegant Oscar de la Renta dress for “The Batman’s” New York premiere, to The Row’s strapless dress, she seems to want to assert herself as a modern Audrey Hepburn, undoubtedly more edgy and gothic.
So, on her birthday, let’s celebrate Zoë Kravitz with some of her most beloved looks of recent times.
