Who Is Ho-Yeon Jung, The Protagonist Of Squid Game Already An It-Girl

Born in 1994, Ho-Yeon Jung is the Korean protagonist of Squid Game who has already entered the Olympus of the new successful it-girls. Already famous on the catwalks all over the world, Ho-Yeon amazed the audience with her interpretation of Kang Sae-Byeok in the beloved South Korean series Squid Game where she played the role of a young North Korean girl in search of money for saving her family. Of few words but of rare expressiveness, the model immediately captured the attention of the spectators, confirming herself as a rising star in the world of cinema. What you didn’t know about her:

Ho-Yeon Jung has a lot of character to spare, she seems to have started her career as a freelancer model, without a reference agency, and presenting herself at the casting of the Seoul Fashion Week shows to fulfill her dream.

In 2013, she made her TV debut as the star of Korea’s Next Top Model, finishing second in qualifying.

In 2016 she left South Korea to pursue her overseas career, walking the catwalks of the famous New York Fashion Week. From then on, her fashion career took off, parading and being noticed by the most famous names of the jet-set fashion including Chanel, Fendi, Schiaparelli, Lanvin, Miu Miu, Hermès and Louis Vuitton.

Louis Vuitton has appointed her global ambassador of the Maison for the year 2021. Linked to the brand since 2017, the beautiful South Korean caught the attention of the creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, who chose her as an ally to undertake a completely new path full of surprises.

In 2020 she started her film career, hand in hand with that in fashion, signing a contract with Saram Entertainment as an actress and debuting as a protagonist in 2021 in the most successful Netflix series in the history of the streaming platform: Squid Game.

The audition for Squid Game, Ho-Yeon Jung tells that he was the first of her ever and that he did it via video call in a New York hotel room in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ho-Yeon Jung approached the world of cinema by continuously watching movies during her travels around the world as a model, starting to turn the tables on her professional future.

It seems that Ho-Yeon Jung is the BFF of Jennie Kim, a member of the very famous Blackpink, the most loved Korean girl band in the world. The two often publish shots together on their social profiles and Ho-Yeon seems to have brought her with him right on the set of Squid Game during the recordings.
