On July 11th, at Rome’s Galleria Borghese inaugurates Couture-Sculpture, the exhibition that illustrates Azzedine Alaïa‘s couture. To the creativity of the designer we would like to dedicate our Inspiration of the Week. His creations are considered true artworks, as highlighted by the Roman setting that harmoniously displays them with other masterpieces. Alaïa’s background as a sculptor is in fact not a case; after studying art in his home country Tunisia at the end of the 1950’s, he moves to Paris where he has his fist experiences in fashion working side by side with Dior and Guy Laroche. In the 1980’s he consolidates his career launching his first line of prêt-à-porter in 1980 with an enormous success that made of him one of the most world’s most recognized designers. The exhibition will be open until October 25th.
