A manifesto of a casual-chic style par excellence, Miu Miu joins forces with Levi’s, the iconic denim brand all over the world, to continue to support a culture based on sustainability. A new life to used and pre-loved denim as they say lately, dressing it with an unmistakable and unique style.
Miu Miu reinterprets, in fact, a selection of classic jeans garments revisited through the maison’s unconventional, playful and iconic gaze, taking up the stylistic codes and adapting them to the casual and genderless style of Levi’s. In a celebration of iconic garments, Levi’s and Miu Miu’s upcycling project includes 501 jeans and Trucker Jackets, all vintage and made in the USA between the 1980s and 1990s. These garments, now infused with new life, also become the symbol of the youthful rebellion of the time, adapted today to become an equally disruptive product that creates a game of contrasts between masculine and feminine. It is precisely this mixture of genres that makes the collaboration with Levi’s perfect for the Miu Miu woman, who has always been characterized by a free and rebellious spirit.
The original denim lights up with unmistakable embroideries of crystals, pearls and flowers, becoming incredibly contemporary with the addition of balloon sleeves, leather applications and duchess profiles. On the hand-embroidered blousons stand out oversized white lace collars and the 501 become irresistible shorts. Symbol of the collaboration, the Levi’s label now dyed pink and branded with the Miu Miu logo.
The Upcycled by Miu Miu collection will be available from mid-May on miumiu.com and in 18 selected stores.
