The days of Anne Hathaway wearing “Fed-Up” t-shirts and questionable shoulder bags seem to be finally over. Let’s look back at the career and style evolution of one of the undisputed icons of the 21st century, amidst cinematic successes and a unique charm that even Miranda Priestly would be proud of.
Indeed, as many of you already know, Anne Hathaway has never been considered an obvious style icon. No matter whether as Mia Thermopolis, the bumbling San Francisco schoolgirl turned princess of Genovia in ‘The Princess Diaries’, or as Andy Sachs in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’, the actress has undergone a metamorphosis that makes her one of the most fashionable characters of our time.
Anne Hathaway is an American actress who has had a hugely successful career on both the big and small screen. Born in New York in 1982, Hathaway started acting in the theatre just before moving to Los Angeles to seek work as an actress, like many of her colleagues. The role that made her popular with the general public was that of Princess Mia, which was a great success and quickly made Hathaway a star, although she was consecrated with the film ‘The Devil Wears Prada’. Her other successful roles include ‘Alice in Wonderland’ in 2010, ‘Les Misérables’ directed by Tom Hooper in 2012, ‘The Intern’ in 2015, ‘Ocean’s 8’ and ‘The Witches’ in 2020.
Among all these films, it should be noted that in 2012, Hathaway won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in ‘Les Miserables’, in which she played the female lead Fantine. The actress has not limited herself to the big screen, but has also starred in several successful theatre productions, including Shakespeare’s ‘Twelfth Night’, ‘Cabaret’ and ‘Grounded’.
