Zoë Isabella Kravitz is a well-known American actress, singer and model. Born in 1988, she is a child of art, her parents being artist Lisa Bonet and musician Lenny Kravitz (together from 1987 to 1993), one of the best-loved power couples of all time. Kravitz attended the Miami Country Day School and the Rudolf Steiner School in Manhattan, graduating in 2007. In the same year, the actress began studying acting under Scott McCrea at the State University of New York at Purchase, her peers included Micah Stock and Jason Ralph. However, she dropped out of college after one year and moved to Brooklyn, New York, to start working in film.
Zoë made her acting debut in the 2007 film No Reservations, but would reach the pinnacle of popularity playing the role of Angel Salvadore in the superhero film X-Men: First Class.
We also remember her in other film roles and in some successful television series. These certainly include the HBO drama series Big Little Lies (2017 to 2019), for which Zoë Kravitz won a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination, then the 2015 series Toast the Knowing in Mad Max: Fury Road. From here, the actress increasingly began to approach the world of cinema, starring in some independent films such as Dope (2015), Gemini (2017) and Kimi (2022). However, her most successful roles were in the two films of the Fantastic Beasts saga in 2016 and 2022, while in 2021 she took on the role of Catwoman – whom she had previously voiced in the animated film LEGO Batman – in the film The Batman, alongside Robert Pattinson.
At the same time, Zoë Kravitz is pursuing a career as a musician and model. In fact, speaking of fashion and beauty, she has been the face of YSL Beauté since 2017, and has also been the face of Balenciaga, Tiffany & Co, Vera Wang, Alexander Wang, Calvin Klein and many others. Her style is the perfect embodiment of that particular idea of goth-chic.
Although constantly evolving, Zoë Kravitz’s aesthetic imagery seems to point towards a wardrobe with a decidedly dark allure. Over the years, Zoë Kravitz has experimented and tried on different styles, but today, from the sequined Saint Laurent gown she wore to the Met Gala in 2019, to the elegant Oscar de la Renta gown for the New York premiere of The Batman, to the strapless dress by The Row, she seems to want to establish herself as a modern Audrey Hepburn, certainly more edgy and gothic.
So, on her birthday, we celebrate Zoë Kravitz with some of her best-loved looks of the last few years.
